How to get discount tickets to Glow Wild at the Birmingham Zoo

Holiday light displays may be over, but Glow Wild: An Animal Lantern Celebration at the Birmingham Zoo continues until Monday, January 18th! If you haven’t been yet, don’t let this event slip away. Glow Wild: An Animal Lantern Celebration features lantern productions of wildlife from around the world. Come check out the giant cheetahs, jellyfish, whales, elephants, polar bears and more soaring up to 30 feet into the air!

The Birmingham Zoo suggests you’ll need one hour and thirty minutes to fully enjoy the Glow Wild experience. More time needs to be allowed if your family plans to ride the train or carousel.

Dates and times:

The event remains open through January 18th (MLK Day) from Wednesdays through Sundays. It opens at 5:00 PM and closes at 9:00 PM each day.

Ticket ordering and discounts:

The Birmingham Zoo offers daily discounts to all tickets pre-purchased online. Online ticket sales stop at 2:00 PM daily. Non-discounted tickets may be purchased at the gate depending on availability.

For ticket savings, plan to attend on non-peak days (Wednesday and Thursday).

Discounts are also available (50% off) for all active and retired military, veterans and their dependents. Valid ID is required.

Birmingham Zoo members will receive 30% off.

Glow Wild tickets can’t be combined with additional coupons, specials, or offers except military discounts and zoo membership holders at this time.

Glow Wild tickets are non-refundable but are transferable. This can be done by replying to your ticket purchase confirmation email.

Please note that there’s an additional cost for the Red Diamond Express Train and the Protective Life Carousel. Each ticket costs $3.50 for ages two and up and can only be purchased at the ride.

Health and safety measures:

Please be aware that this is a socially distanced event and tickets are time-sensitive with arrival times issued in 30-minute blocks. MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL VISITORS AGE 6 AND UP. Masks are required for all staff.

Please adhere to signs and guidance for proper entrance/exit. Traffic flow is marked and is one-way only.

Sanitation stations are available throughout the event.

The Birmingham Zoo asks that you remain home if you feel unwell.
