FREE fencing class on the first Saturday of the month

Have you ever wanted to try fencing? Now’s your chance to check it out at a FREE fencing class on the first Saturday of the month!

This event is sponsored by the Birmingham Fencing Club, a nonprofit corporation whose goal is to share information about the sport of fencing with the Birmingham community as well as provide instruction.

On the first Saturday of each month, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, show up and learn about fencing through a short overview about gear and how the sport works. This will be followed by a demonstration of fencing basics. For the remainder of the class, participants will be encouraged to put on the gear and give it a try!

The class will take place at the Birmingham Fencing Club, located at 1581 Montgomery Hwy, Suite 109 in Hoover. Participants are encouraged to wear tennis shoes or athletic shoes (no open-toed shoes, please) and clothing you can move/exercise in.

Coaches will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the weekly classes for anyone interested after class ends.
