It’s easy to get swept up in the frappy, whippy sweetness of a major coffee chain that shall remain nameless here, but when you decide to get serious about being a real coffee snob like my husband, Seeds Coffee is a must. This small, yet bustling business sets the pace for a communal atmosphere to ensue before you even enter the front doors.

From a cozy covered grassy area to a medium patio on concrete, patrons sit about either chatting or working away on laptops or sharing a laugh with a business partner or classmate. Diverse people from across Birmingham swing into Seeds Coffee to order a range of beverages from teas to lattes, and cappuccinos to fresh brews, then settle in for a bit as possible new connections are easily made.

Seeds Coffee has created an After Hours event that has steadily grown since 2021, welcoming more of the community. Following the closing of its beloved location in the Lakeview district, Seeds is growing more swiftly than ever as it blossoms into its niche in Homewood, Alabama.
