Built in 1931, the Avondale Amphitheatre has been an integral part of the historical Avondale neighborhood. Concerts, pageants and plays have been held there throughout the years.
In the 1970’s, the Amphitheatre experienced a large decline. In 2011, extensive renovations brought the Amphitheatre back to life.

Even though a lot of work and time have been put into the venue, it is still looked over in terms of being a major entertainment venue.
This is where the Birmingham Folk Festival comes in. The festival aims to bring attention to the venue once again. This year, the Birmingham Folk Festival will be on August 27th. This is a FREE event.
