Supporters, old and new, can catch the original Auntie Litter in full costume on WBRC-TV FOX6’s Good Day Alabama this Tuesday, April 20, 2021. She will make her appearance alongside Jeh Jeh Pruitt around 7:20 a.m., 7:50 a.m., and again at 8:20 a.m.
Auntie Litter will also appear at The Market at Pepper Place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. this Saturday for photos with the public and to autograph copies of her book.
FORMER EARTH DAY EXPERIENCES
Many will recall past Earth Day Parades in which Auntie Litter and over 45,000 children clad in handmade costumes happily marched the streets of downtown Birmingham from 1991-2013.
A concerned mother, Mitchell had a vision in 1990 that evolved into an innovative and nationally recognized program. The laurels garnered by the program include praises from kindergartners to American presidents, including Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.
“By teaching children to protect the environment, we are setting the stage for future generations,” says Mrs. Mitchell, Founder of Auntie Litter, Inc.

To continue educating the youth about the importance of being environmentally responsible, Mitchell is releasing her first children’s book, Evan’s Earth Day Experience.
Evan and his new school friends are expected to march in the big Earth Day Parade, but he doesn’t want to go. He is embarrassed, knowing his costume isn’t as good as the others.
Come with Evan on his Earth Day adventure and find out why his experience is one he will never forget.
