In response to the current need for social distancing, Birmingham’s own Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema is partnering with Regions bank and the Summit to offer pop-up drive-in movies. Sidewalk is striving to make this a family-friendly event so pile everyone in the car and head on over!
This event has been extremely popular, sometimes with tickets selling out within hours. The newest addition to the movie line up is DIRTY DANCING, which will be shown on Friday, June 12. Tickets are still available as of Wed., June 3rd.
Get your tickets NOW at sidewalkfest.com for the Sidewalk Starlight Pop-Up Drive-In!
***Due to recent curfew mandates, THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON will now be shown on Saturday, June 13, rather than June 6. Ticket holders, please take note.
Fees are $20/car. Tickets will not be sold on-site so head over to the website today and grab yours now.
Several Summit vendors will also be on hand with take-out. For a full list, click here.
The lot will open at 7:00 PM. The sponsors recommend that you arrive around this time to be able to secure a parking spot. You’ll be directed to a parking location by a staff member.
The movie will start at sunset (approximately 7:30-7:40 PM but times could vary.) Tune in via your FM radio to receive the movie audio.
Sidewalk staff asks that you remain inside your car and do not mingle during this event. They’ve issued the following statement:
“This will be a socially distanced event, and we will be honoring all regulations put forth by our local and state governments and public health officials. You should come to the event only with the people you’ve been “safer at home” with, wear face coverings when visiting restrooms, and follow all safety and security guidelines (see your confirmation email for more information).”
