Hello, Frugal Friends!
As we all face so much uncertainty right now, there’s one thing we’re certain about and that’s our mission of helping the community have fun in our beloved city without breaking the family budget. As a matter of fact, Living On The Cheap was born out of the Great Recession with the goal of helping people thrive during hard economic times.
We’ve been growing every day and we don’t plan to stop now. It’s still our goal to reach thousands of “cheapskates” and positively impact our local small businesses in the Birmingham area. We’re not going anywhere. We’ll be waiting in your inbox every morning, continuing to publish the best deals and events in Birmingham– even though we’re faced with the unpredictability of the future.
We anticipate fewer events and lots of cancellations. Please double-check events, including hours and/or new restrictions, before making plans.
On the flip side, we expect more deals and discounts, as businesses look for creative ways to increase sales in the months ahead. Don’t fret. There will still be lots of fun and bargains to be found – maybe, just in different ways.
Basically, our content will probably be a little chaotic for the next few months. However, every bargain hunter knows that to truly save money you must always be flexible, so we suspect you will adapt to the changes.
Given the nature of what’s going on, the summer schedule may be vastly different, too. However, we’re staying positive and hopeful everything will calm down soon.
We’re also a small business that may be adversely affected financially, as the economy struggles in the foreseeable future. You help us stay afloat every time you visit our site, share a post through social media or purchase an item via an affiliate link. We will be just fine, but every little bit helps. (Thank you, in advance.)
Finally, Birmingham On the Cheap is building a community of good people who just happen to appreciate saving money. To this end, we encourage you to continue helping our “community of frugal friends” stay informed — let us know, if an event has been canceled, you found a great deal in your neighborhood, or have a story idea that might be helpful to others. You can always reach us at news@birminghamonthecheap.com.
Together, we can navigate this new landscape until everything gets back to normal…or, at least, a “new normal.” However, we don’t think saving money will ever go out of style, right?
One more thing, go wash your hands!
Your Local Bargain Hunter,
Beth
