With the recent announcement of the closure of the dog-racing track, the Jefferson County Racing Association is launching a massive initiative to find homes for over 400 dogs.

The Alabama Greyhound Rescue and Adoption Center, a non-profit endeavor which is located at the track here in Birmingham, has a history of finding homes for the Greyhounds involved in racing after their retirements. They believe the now displaced dogs should be available for adoption sometime in May. For more information, go to their website, OhMyGreyhounds.com.
